TransDevelopment International served as the fast-track turnkey developer of this innovative vehicle terminal in central England. Capacity for two daily unit train arrivals through the English Channel Tunnel was provided, along with extensive vehicle stocking and haulier dispatch areas.
The TransDevelopment team provided comprehensive development services, including real estate acquisition, third-party financing, and design and construction management. The anchor shipper for the project was Ford Europe with the Mondeo model. The facility operator was Autolink, a consortium of Walon, a leading road haulier; STVA, the automotive transportation subsidiary of the French National Railway; and Railfreight Distribution, the UK rail service provider.
The project included 37 acres of paved yard areas, four site buildings, and extensive rail trackwork and ancillary facilities.
