TransDevelopment served as the Tenant’s Representative to establish finished vehicle facilities at Canada’s newest Port of Entry facility in Nanaimo, British Columbia. The project was jointly sponsored by the Nanaimo Port Authority, Western Stevedoring, and its affiliate organization-the Auto Division of SSA Marine.
The facility is Master Planned for a multi-phase expansion, with Phase 1 using 17-acres of yard space and one-half of an existing 60,000-square foot building. TransDevelopment served as the Design Integrator for the building rehabilitation, to turn the existing structure into a state-of-the-art vehicle processing center. The $19 million terminal started receiving inbound Mercedes-Benz traffic from Europe in early 2019.
